Management of DC power is essential for reliable wireless system operations. System buss voltage and current from rectifiers and reserve batteries must be selectively routed via a DC distribution system to the site’s multiple devices to protect wiring and provide control and monitoring.
The rackmount DC distribution panel provide all these critical functions. The panels route up to 900 amps at 12 VDC, 24 VDC, or 48 VDC to various equipment via circuit breakers which easily plug into the front panel. Service personnel appreciate the built-in alarm contacts which indicate circuit off-line due to overload, as well as finger tip control allowing selective circuit shut down for maintenance without affecting the entire system

Application: Distributed Power Essential to Backhaul Network
The fire department of a New York City suburb upgraded the backhaul network for its two-way (2 way) radio system from traditional leased lines to digital microwave point-to-point wireless technology. The Rackmount Distribution Panel, model DST-20A (UL), was selected to provide DC power distribution to the critical communication systems.
The rack mount distribution panel occupies a strategic point in the network between the 48 VDC rectifiers and batteries and the multiple radios, transmitters, and related DC loads. Wired for redundant DC inputs for enhanced system reliability, the compact 2U (2RU) (3.5”) panel distributes voltage up to 20 loads via circuit breakers which provide control, over-current protection of loads and wiring. The panels are rated for 900 amps for 12 VDC, +24 VDC, and -48 VDC applications.
